SIOR CONNECTICUT/WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS CHAPTER BUILDS MOMENTUM AT THIRD-QUARTER MEMBER MEETING

On Sept. 11, SIOR Connecticut/Western Mass Chapter hosted its third-quarter member meeting and guest reception at Essex Yacht Club in Essex, Connecticut. The evening began with a moment of silence in remembrance of 9/11, observed from the waterfront venue overlooking Long Island Sound. With 52 attendees, including SIOR Global President Saadia Sheikh and Regional Director Jon Stravitz, the event offered a meaningful opportunity for members, sponsors, and University of Connecticut students to connect.

Chapter President Bryan Atherton invited nine sponsors to share brief industry updates, fostering connection and insight. Members reviewed the year’s growth in attendance and branding, including a promotional initiative offering SIOR-branded apparel. The chapter also celebrated its role in helping sunset the Connecticut Transfer Act, a move that supports regional development and revitalization.

The SIOR Inland Empire & Orange County Chapter partnered with the SIOR San Diego Chapter for a Day at the Races at Del Mar. Nearly 70 members and guests gathered for an afternoon of networking, regional connection, and relaxed conversation. The event featured SIOR Global Regional Director, West, Nancy Morse, and SIOR Global Vice President Aaron Barnard, whose presence added depth and distinction.

Set against the vibrant energy of the racetrack, the gathering highlighted the chapters’ shared commitment to collaboration, community, and the enduring strength of the SIOR network.

SIOR GREAT LAKES REGION SPOTLIGHTS INDUSTRY TRENDS AND MIDWEST HOSPITALITY IN MILWAUKEE

The SIOR Great Lakes Regional Event brought together more than 100 commercial real estate leaders from six states for a full day of networking, learning, and local flavor in Milwaukee. Highlights included a welcome from Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, a panel on industrial volatility and AI, and a guided city tour through the Third Ward, Menomonee Valley, and major headquarters.

Attendees enjoyed a behind-the-scenes experience at American Family Field and capped the evening with dinner, cigars, and croquet at Bartolotta’s Lake Park Bistro. The event underscored the region’s resilience and growth potential, with discussions on tariffs, build-to-suit trends, rising healthcare costs, and the evolving role of energy and data in development.






SIOR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA/NORTHERN NEVADA CHAPTER SERVES UP CONNECTIONS AT ORACLE PARK

The SIOR Northern California/Northern Nevada Chapter hosted a lively networking event in San Francisco, beginning with a happy hour at MoMo’s and followed by a Giants game at Oracle Park. Of the 60 attendees, 25 members took in the afternoon matchup against the Diamondbacks.

While the scoreboard didn’t favor the home team, the atmosphere was filled with food, fun, and fellowship. The event captured the chapter’s signature blend of professional connection and laid-back camaraderie.

SIOR WESTERN MISSOURI/KANSAS CHAPTER SHINES SPOTLIGHT ON DEVELOPMENT AND DATA IN KANSAS CITY

SIOR Western Missouri/Kansas Chapter welcomed more than 1,600 attendees to Union Station in Kansas City for its annual Development Day. The event featured a keynote address by John Pittenger, who explored the power and pitfalls of data, the promise of artificial intelligence, and the need for stronger vocational education to support workforce growth.

Pittenger emphasized the importance of accurate information in decision-making and warned of the risks posed by misinformation and economic instability. He also expressed optimism about the resilience of small businesses and the potential for reform in fiscal policy. The event highlighted SIOR’s commitment to innovation and shaping the future of commercial real estate.

SIOR MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL CONFERENCE DELIVERS MARKET INSIGHTS AND FEDERAL FORECASTS IN D.C.

The SIOR Mid Atlantic Regional Conference brought together 150 attendees at Nationals Stadium in Washington, D.C., for a series of panels focused on industrial growth, energy infrastructure, and federal leasing trends. Experts shared updates on the Port of Virginia’s logistics strength, the shifting dynamics of the national office market, and the challenges facing data center development amid rising power demands.

A GSA leasing panel explored the federal government’s evolving real estate footprint and the potential for relocation beyond the capital. While weather disrupted plans to watch the Nationals game, attendees pivoted to a lively happy hour, reinforcing the region’s adaptability and the strength of SIOR’s professional community.




SIOR INDIANA CHAPTER EXPLORES THE FUTURE OF BANKING WITH FINTECH PIONEER DAVID BECKER

SIOR Indiana, in partnership with CCIM Indiana, hosted a rooftop event at First Internet Bank in Fishers featuring founder and CEO David Becker. Attendees heard Becker’s insights on digital banking, innovation, and the evolution of financial services. He shared highlights from his four-decade career, including launching the first fully online FDIC-insured bank and founding five Inc. 500 companies in fintech and SaaS.

Becker emphasized the importance of culture, connection, and the people behind the technology. His message resonated with attendees, reinforcing the role of vision and resilience in driving meaningful progress.
