WASHINGTON, DC - The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors®  (SIOR), the world’s premier organization for office and industrial real estate professionals, and the SIOR Foundation, are pleased to announce their joint sponsorship of the upcoming 2020 REEX Summer Program. 

The program, a collaborative effort between Real Estate Executive Council (REEC) and LEADership, Education and Development (LEAD), offers an incredible opportunity to high school students that will expose them to the amazing intersection between the $14+ trillion commercial real estate (CRE) industry and the fundamentals of business, engineering, technology, and entrepreneurship.

The 10-day program includes both academic and experience-intensive curricula created to expose teens of color to leading universities and business opportunities. During this academic immersion experience, scholars will engage with top academic faculty and professionals in the commercial real estate industry at Baker Program for Real Estate (Cornell University), Center for Real Estate (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), and Herbert Business School (University of Miami). Scholars will participate in experiential learning activities through both hands-on instruction, case studies, virtual site visits, and competitive pitch presentations—challenging themselves to identify and develop industry enterprise ideas designed to make meaningful change in the world.

“We strongly believe in making investments in future industry leaders, and that starts well before they graduate from college,” explains SIOR Global President Mark Duclos. “This course provides the fundamentals needed to excel in our industry, and identifies bright, diverse emerging leaders we will be honored to welcome to the field one day.”
