In early 2012, veteran commercial real estate broker Marshall V. Davidson, Jr., partnered with San Antonio developer Bart Koontz and legendary businessman B.J. “Red” McCombs to form KMD Realty Advisors, a specialized, research driven, team delivered commercial brokerage practice designed to serve the Central Texas Metro Area – Austin and San Antonio and the IH-35 corridor connecting them.
With Davidson as Managing Principal, in July of 2012, the San Antonio based KMD formed an operating alliance with New York headquartered Studley, the global leader in tenant representation. The rebranded firm, KMD Studley, opened a second location on August 1, 2013 in Downtown Austin. KMD Studley advises highly credit worthy regional, national and international tenants and end users as well as owners of desirable development tracts.
Davidson and his fellow advisors, Marshall V. Davidson, Sr., John Scoblick, Travis Wright, Alecia Burdick and Tate Hinkleman have represented large, highly complex tenancies and owners of development tracts in sales, long term ground leases, joint ventures, build-to-suits and design-builds.
Davidson led his own San Antonio firm, Davidson Gill, from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that he was a Director at Cushman & Wakefield of Texas, Inc. (C&W) in Houston where he was a seasoned transaction specialist with over $1.3 billion in sales/leasing of commercial properties to his credit. Davidson is an accredited broker and has earned the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation, as well as the important SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors) designation.
While at C&W, Davidson quickly attained several of the firm’s accolades, including C&W Houston’s Outstanding Emerging Broker of the Year for 2004, 2006 and 2007. His team was awarded the 2007 Land Sale Deal of the Year for the disposition of Houston CBD Block 319 to Trammel-Crow for the development of Discovery Tower, an 870,000 square foot office building. In 2006, they won the same award for the disposition of Six Flags’ Astroworld site ($77,000,000), and the Investment Sale Deal of the Year for BMC Software’s 1.5 million square foot Houston headquarters campus disposition ($295,000,000 Sale Lease-back).
