WASHINGTON, DC – October 25, 2016 –The New York Stock Exchange welcomed executives and guests of Stewart Information Services (NYSE: STC) and The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) to ring The NYSE Opening Bell® for the day of trading on October 19, 2016. Celebrating SIOR’s 75th anniversary, Geoffrey Kasselman, the newly-instated Global President of SIOR, and Gabriel Silverstein, President of SIOR NYC/Downstate New York Chapter, rang The Bell. The occasion celebrated SIOR’s 75th Anniversary and helped kick off SIOR’s three-day Fall World Conference, which returned to New York after thirty years. A total of 1,170 attendees gathered for the international conference at the Sheraton Hotel Times Square, marking the organization's highest attendance level ever.
“We are grateful to our partners at Stewart Information Services for allowing us to ring the opening bell of the NYSE to commemorate our 75th Anniversary and as a symbolic return to NYC for our first members’ conference there in more than 30 years,” Kasselman said. “The incredible energy we felt on the bell podium and trading floor was a great reflection of the momentum SIOR has been building over the past several years. SIOR continues to expand our membership base of qualified professionals globally and look ahead to the next 75 years and beyond.”
The ringing of The Opening Bell of the New York Stock Exchange is one of the most viewed daily news items broadcast across the world.
