Call for Presentations (CFP)

SIOR and the Center for Career Advancement encourage SIOR members and industry practitioners to share their expertise by submitting a proposal for a session at an SIOR conference.

Benefits of Presenting

Presenting a breakout session or leading a roundtable discussion…

  • Helps you with your own professional development.
  • Provides excellent networking opportunities and exposure.
  • Brands you as an industry expert.

All session proposals must be submitted on the Call for Presentations submission form. Proposals that do not include all requested information will not be considered for presentation. All submissions must include the following information:

  1. Organizer Information

  2. Program Information (Title, Format, Outline, Description, Learning Objectives)

  3. Speaker/Presenter Information (if different from Organizer Information)

  4. Speaker/Presenter References

All complete proposals will be reviewed by the Breakout Subcommittee of the Conference Education Committee, comprised of 10-15 industry professionals. The group schedules conference calls, as needed, to review program proposals and ideas. It is the intention of the subcommittee to finalize programming six-to-eight months prior to the conference.

  1. All breakout sessions are approximately 90 minutes in length.

  2. Roundtable discussions are held at the fall conference only. Roundtable discussions last approximately 45 minutes and are led twice, back-to-back at one 90 minute session.

  3. Proposals must be submitted by the following deadlines:

    • SIOR Spring World Conferences – December 1

    • SIOR Fall World Conferences – June 1

  4. There is no limit to the number of submissions from any one person; however, a separate form must be submitted for each session proposal.

  5. All speakers must be identified at the time of submission.

  6. SIOR will not provide speaker honoraria, fees, or travel reimbursement/compensation.

  7. Sessions featuring a non-member speaker will receive one (1) complimentary registration.

  8. Session proposals that do not include a timed outline with learning objectives will not be considered for presentation.

  9. All presenters are required to use their personal laptops for presentations. SIOR will provide a projector, screen, microphones, etc.

Notification of acceptance will be made via e-mail approximately six (6) weeks following the submission deadline.
