SIOR’s Retired application processing procedure, conducted pursuant to the terms of SIOR’s Bylaws, seeks to assure that applicants are fully and fairly evaluated in terms of qualification criteria as stated in the SIOR Bylaws.
Retired status is available to Members SIOR designees) who fulfill at least one of the following requirements:
Any Member who is no longer active in the industry except for facilitating his/her own portfolio) and: a) is sixty-five 65) years of age or older and; or b) is a Member who has been a Member in good standing for at least fifteen 15) years or more; or c) has a serious chronic illness or disability.
Any Associate delegate, who because of transfer to non-real estate related activities within the Associate company, or who otherwise desires to retire completely and permanently, and who has completed a minimum of five 5) years service as an Associate delegate and who has been a regular participant in local SIOR Chapter activities if a Chapter member) may be classified as a “Retired Associate delegate”. This retired category for Associate delegates will be available to previous Associate delegates who meet the above requirements.
Retired Active Members are invited to participate in all SIOR activities. They may continue to use the SIOR Retired designation and wear the SIOR pin. They will appear in the annual SIOR directory and on the SIOR website, labeled “SIOR Retired.” They are required to pay both Society dues currently $200 annually) and may choose to pay chapter dues if they wish to participate in chapter activities.
If a Retired Member’s status changes and he/she returns to practicing real estate brokerage at any substantial level, he/she must notify SIOR to reinstate Active Membership. Click herefor a Retired Membership Application.
