Membership Services

Along with the substantial benefit of the SIOR designation (Active Membership) or Associate Membership, the SIOR provides services that assist members in networking and expanding their business horizons.

Information Resources

The annual SIOR Membership Directory contains the names, addresses, phone, facsimile numbers, photos and e-mail addresses of members. The Guide is used by corporate real estate executives who require the specialized services of SIOR members and is sent to all members and more than 5,000 corporate real estate practitioners and other interested business executives.

Professional Report, SIOR's quarterly industry magazine, features timely articles and trends in the commercial real estate field. A subscription to Professional Report is included in membership dues.

The Cooperative Transactions Awards Program acknowledges all members who have cooperated on real estate transactions with other SIOR members. The information is published in Professional Report and appears on our web site.  Annual awards are presented to recognize the largest transactions in various categories.

The  International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) is an effective way to start expanding personal international business networks. SIOR is a principal member of FIABCI and interested members are eligible to join.

Real Estate Courses

SIOR offers courses in industrial and office real estate brokerage in various cities throughout North America. Faculty members are practitioners and experts in their specialties. These intensive courses provide participants with opportunities to meet, talk candidly, and network with instructors and course participants from all over North America.

SIOR has developed a comprehensive curriculum that blends classroom discussion with case study analysis. Each course is based on a practical approach to current issues and trends facing commercial real estate practitioners. Students explore industry concepts, learn to be more effective, and prepare for greater responsibilities.

Real Estate Seminars

Half-, one-, and two-day seminars are available on a variety of industry topics including commercial real estate ethics,  tenant/landlord representation, developing and managing commercial real estate prospects, build-to-suit development, environmental issues, marketing techniques, getting the listing, and negotiation and sales skills. Conventions & Conferences

SIOR conducts numerous meetings and conferences each year.

SIOR members meet each spring and fall to increase their professionalism and enhance their business networks. The meetings include sophisticated educational programming, for which real estate continuing education credit is granted in many states, and provide a variety of business and social opportunities.

Realcomm, the real estate technology e-conference, brings together the industry's leaders in information technology and e-business.

International Property Market (MIPIM): More than 14,000 business leaders representing 1,000 companies from 25+ countries attend this annual international business event in Cannes, France. SIOR negotiates discounted fees and special promotional opportunities for participating members.

SIOR Foundation

The SIOR Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1962, supports educational programs of benefit to the industry.

The Foundation supports a wide range of educational endeavors including curriculum development; real estate oriented research; and development of industry specific texts including Industrial Real Estate, Strategies in Tenant Representation, Mastering Office Leasing, and The Office Building Book: From Concept to Investment Reality.

ADVERTISING –SIOR places advertisements on behalf of its members in nationally-recognized US trade magazines.

PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS –SIOR provides marketing tools members need to document their expertise and convince corporate executives of their edge on the market.

AWARD PROGRAMS – Members receive special Cooperative Transactions Awards in recognition of transaction-related accomplishments. Recipients of the Distinguished Service Award represent those members who have provided outstanding service to the SIOR and the real estate community.

CHAPTER PROGRAMS – A vital link for the SIOR's membership is its 42 chapters throughout North America. Through these excellent grassroots programs and meetings, the mission of the national organization is enhanced.

MEMBERS-ONLY WEBSITE INTRANET– Provides numerous services and tools for SIOR members, including broadcast email, complimentary LoopNet listing service, unlimited access to market data, and more.

NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION – New members of SIOR receive professional membership certificates, camera-ready logos, full listings of member services, promotional literature, and an SIOR logo lapel pin. Active members receive coupons entitling them to one free convention registration within their first year of membership, where they receive information about how to get the most out of their membership.
