SIOR CEO David Lockwood Adds MRICS Designation to Distinguished Commercial Real Estate Credentials

WASHINGTON, D.C. — October 6, 2026 — The  Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS® (SIOR) is proud to announce that Chief Executive Officer David C. Lockwood III, SIOR, CCIM, CRE, has earned the MRICS designation from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, adding another internationally recognized credential to an already distinguished career in commercial real estate.

With the addition of the MRICS designation, Lockwood now holds four of the commercial real estate profession’s highly recognized credentials: SIOR, CCIM, CRE and MRICS. Together, the designations reflect expertise spanning brokerage, investment, advisory services, leadership and the broader global real estate profession.

The achievement comes during Lockwood’s first year as CEO of SIOR and as the organization continues to expand its international presence and strengthen relationships across the global commercial real estate community.

“Earning the MRICS designation is particularly meaningful to me because of its global reach and the standards of professionalism it represents,” said Lockwood. “Throughout my career, I have believed strongly in continuing to learn, challenging ourselves to raise the bar and supporting organizations that advance professionalism within commercial real estate. I am proud to add MRICS to the SIOR, CCIM and CRE credentials I have been fortunate to earn throughout my career.”

Lockwood brings more than three decades of commercial real estate experience to his role as CEO of SIOR. An SIOR designee since 1990, he served in numerous leadership positions within the organization, including as SIOR Global President in 2024, before being appointed CEO in 2026. Prior to joining SIOR’s headquarters team, Lockwood served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Colliers | South Carolina and previously as Market President of the firm’s Columbia office.

His career has spanned brokerage, corporate leadership, association governance and industry service, giving him a unique perspective as both a longtime practitioner and the executive leader of a global professional organization.

The timing of the MRICS designation also aligns with SIOR’s continued emphasis on strengthening its global footprint. Lockwood recently traveled to Munich, Germany, to represent SIOR at EXPO REAL 2026, one of the international real estate industry’s major gatherings. The event brought together professionals and decision makers from across the real estate, investment and infrastructure sectors, providing an important platform for international business development, thought leadership and collaboration.

“Commercial real estate has never been more interconnected,” Lockwood said. “The relationships between professionals in North America, Europe and markets around the world continue to grow in importance. SIOR has an incredible opportunity to bring together the very best professionals across borders, create meaningful business connections and ensure our members are positioned to lead in an increasingly global marketplace.”

Lockwood’s presence at EXPO REAL underscores SIOR’s commitment to expanding international engagement and building stronger connections between its members and commercial real estate leaders around the world.

As SIOR looks toward its next chapter, Lockwood’s combination of practitioner experience, association leadership and internationally recognized professional credentials reflects the organization’s longstanding commitment to excellence, ethics, expertise and global connectivity.
