Ian M. Grusd CCIM SIOR is past President of the SIOR NJ Chapter. Under Ian's leadership the Chapter reached new milestone's including its first SIOR National Award for for Community Outreach related to Hurricane Sandy efforts.
Ian has over 25 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate. Ian has represented hundreds of companies across a diverse group of industries with the acquisition, disposition and consulting of Industrial, Office, Retail and Investment properties.
Ian has also worked with a number of Not for Profit agencies including: Cerebral Palsy League, Occupational Centers and Developmental Disabilities Association. As a past chairman, he currently serves on the Board of Directors of a New Jersey Not for Profit. He holds both the CCIM and SIOR designations and is only one of a dozen in the entire state of New Jersey with these dual designations. He served four (4) years as an Officer for the SIOR New Jersey Chapter and served on the Board of Directors of the Colts Neck Sports Foundation and was the soccer commissioner, overseeing 600 children and 60 teams. In this capacity, he founded "Home Field Advantage" an athletic equipment donation program for inner city programs.
Notable transactions include: a consulting assignment comprising of 750,000 square feet for a major area hospital; the sale of 345,000 square foot AT&T facility; a 256,000 square foot repositioning of an American Home Products Office/Flex facility; the 250,000 square foot, long-term lease of a former Johnson & Johnson Worldwide Facility; the 190,000 square foot repositioning of North Fork Bank/US Trust Companies office building, the 140,000 square foot sale of Allied Beverage Group facility; and the 50,000 square foot Corporate office lease to a major web hosting company.
Ian has provided expert testimony for landlord-tenant disputes, real estate tax appeals and property valuation. He has held seminars for various organizations including being a panelist at a Real Estate International Convention. He has had articles published in various trade journals and been quoted numerous times.
Professional Achievements include SIOR NJ largest Industrial sale, Largest out of state co-operating transaction and recipient of Gateway Regional Chamber of Commerce Company of the Year. Ian received a BA in Economics from Binghamton University.
Personal passions include playing men’s soccer, travel and spending time with his wife and three children. Ian was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa.
