Hector J. Aponte, serves as managing director and head of CRES Puerto Rico and Caribbean. While working with other team members to deliver the entire range of CRES solutions, Mr. Aponte focuses mainly on tenant representation, market research, site selection, lease renewals/restructurings, acquisitions and dispositions.

Mr. Aponte founded CRES in 1997 after gaining valuable experience as an industry associate at another leading firm. Under his leadership, CRES became the largest commercial real estate firm in Puerto Rico in 2012, when it joined the NAI Global network. With increasing demand and a strategic focus on the broader Caribbean region, Mr. Aponte—one of only three Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) agents in Puerto Rico—moved to Newmark Grubb Knight Frank in 2015. In 2023, CRES decided to part ways with Newmark to explore new business opportunities and collaborations in the real estate sector. In 2025, CRES became Savills' strategic partner in the region, serving as an exclusive international affiliate of Savills, a leading global real estate service provider listed on the London Stock Exchange (SVS: LSE). This partnership grants our firm and clients access to a global network of over 700 offices and 40,000 real estate experts spanning the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East.

Mr. Aponte's list of transactions since 1997 runs the gamut of industries: hospitality, office, retail, advertising, banking/financial, manufacturing/industrial, food/beverage, government, healthcare, education and niche segments. His clients have included such Fortune 500 companies as Bayer, BrightStar, Burlington, Catalent, ConAgra Foods, CR Bard, CSA Group, Diageo, Marsh & McLennan, Northrop Grumman, Publicis, Sanofi, Sony and WPP among others. Mr. Aponte has also represented federal agencies, including the US. Army, and local government entities, such as the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Co. and the Puerto Rico Commerce & Trade Co.

Mr. Aponte has been featured several times in Caribbean Business, the leading business newspaper in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. In March 2008, he was profiled in "Who's Who In Sales & Marketing," an annual survey of the region's top sales and marketing executives. In October 2012, he was cited in "Companies in Motion," a special feature. Mr. Aponte was profiled again in "Extreme Leadership," an article published in December 2012.
